Your Responsibilities
- Build, expand, and validate kinematic and dynamic robot models for serial and hybrid 6+-axis robot kinematics
- Model and analyze robot-specific properties such as gear ratios, joint stiffness, elasticity, friction, and mechanical limits
- Develop and apply methods for parameterization and identification of robot models with a focus on fast industrial implementation
- Develop new functions for 6+-axis robots, for example for configuration changes and optimized workspace utilization
- Plan and implement PLC integrations of the Schubert-Motion Library and collect and evaluate validation data internally and at customer sites
- Analyze new robotics concepts and transfer scientific approaches into robust industrial solutions together with software development, mechanical design, and application engineering
What You Bring
- A completed degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control engineering, or a comparable field
- Strong knowledge of robot modeling, robot dynamics, and robot identification, ideally gained through industrial development work or a PhD
- Very good understanding of serial robot kinematics, especially 6+-axis industrial robots, their configurations, singularities, and workspaces
- Understanding of the physical properties of real robot mechanisms such as stiffness, elasticity, gear systems, friction, and control
- Good programming skills in Python, experience with C++, and professional software development including version control, testing, and CI/CD
- Ideally experience with ROS or ROS 2, robotics libraries, and PLC systems such as TwinCAT, Automation Studio, or ctrlX, as well as simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, or Gazebo
