Your Responsibilities
- Bringing robot models into practical applications: Develop and identify kinematic and dynamic models for serial 6- and 7-axis robots as well as customer-specific mechanisms and axis configurations, with a focus on efficient implementation in industrial applications.
- Integrating motion technology: Support the planning and implementation of our Motion Library's integration into industrial PLC and motion control systems.
- Enabling compatibility with different robot controllers: Evaluate established and emerging industrial robot controllers in terms of their interfaces and integration capabilities, and contribute to connecting our Motion Library to these systems.
- Understanding real-world robot behavior: Model and analyze robot-specific characteristics such as gear ratios, stiffness, elasticity, and friction. Apply these findings directly to the further development of robot models and their industrial applications.
- Expanding our robotics capabilities: Further develop functionalities for configuration changes, handling singularities, and optimal workspace utilization, with room to contribute your own ideas and solutions.
- Bringing technology into practical use quickly: Plan and conduct tests and evaluate measurement data to validate robot models and control system integrations – at our test facilities and at customer sites. Support the development process from initial models to validated robot movements.
- Developing across disciplines: Transfer new robotics functionalities and suitable methods into robust industrial applications in close collaboration with software development, mechanical engineering, and application engineering teams in Dresden and Crailsheim.
What You Bring
- A relevant technical background: A university degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control engineering, or a comparable discipline.
- Robot modeling and dynamics: Strong knowledge of robot modeling, robot dynamics, and robot identification. An understanding of how gear systems, friction, stiffness, and elasticity affect model accuracy and robot motion behavior.
- Understanding of serial robot kinematics: Very good understanding of the specific characteristics of 6- and 7-axis robots, particularly their configurations, singularities, joint limits, and workspaces.
