From individual products to the pallet

At the Achema trade fair, Schubert-Pharma will be presenting a cross-section of its packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

From individual products to the pallet Schubert-Pharma at Achema 2018

At the Achema trade fair, Schubert-Pharma will be presenting a cross-section of its packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. For the first time, the expert audience will be able to see the latest generation of the Flowmodul flow-wrapping unit in action, packing BFS ampoules into flowpacks at the exhibition. Schubert-Pharma will also be presenting its extensive portfolio of engineering services. The exhibition will highlight the expertise in realising multiple processes and functions with the Schubert TLM technology platform or by seamless integration of external units.
At the Schubert-Pharma exhibition stand, a TLM packaging machine with integrated Flowmodul will be packaging BFS ampoules into flowpacks. A film with high barrier properties (e.g. for protection in climate zone 4) will be used. This protects pharmaceutical products from environmental factors. Various sealing processes can be used with the Schubert flow-wrapping unit. Thermal and ultrasonic sealing are both possible.

The Flowmodul offers manufacturers a compact, high-performance machine with a high degree of flexibility. The Flowmodul unit has a fully automatic carrier change with replaceable cassettes for other formats. The entire forming shoulder is changed when the format changes. This guarantees 100 percent safety when changing films and reliable reproducibility of the flowpack geometry.

The latest version of the Flowmodul machine is even more easily accessible for maintenance and cleaning thanks to its open machine layout. This means Schubert is in compliance with the high hygiene requirements for the pharmaceutical industry. The machine also features easy-to-clean conveyor belts.

Full process integration

At Achema, Schubert-Pharma will also provide information about the extensive possibilities TLM technology and the integration of external units can add to your processes and functions. All labelling, quality control and serialisation tasks can be carried out by the packaging machine depending on the application. Schubert offers solutions for the efficient packaging of the most varied of products, be they vials, ampoules, adhesive dressings, infusion bags, syringes or devices. The proven Schubert image recognition system carries out the optical control functions and quality control tasks. This includes mix-up checks, verifying the presence and completeness of products and shape control.

Integrated external systems such as labellers to apply tamper-evident seals or camera systems to verify serial data can easily be integrated into Schubert’s own Track-and-Trace system.

The engineering office with the packaging experts

The experts at Schubert Consulting are available to customers for any further consultancy requirements. The Schubert Packaging Systems business unit will be showing off its skills in the pharmaceutical sector at Achema. Schubert-Consulting supports customers in the planning and implementation of various packaging processes, from theoretical planning through to implementation and production of a system that is ready for operation. The scope of services ranges from individual lines to factory layout and greenfield projects.

Gerhard Schubert GmbH at the Fachpack 2024 trade fair in Nuremberg

With the new EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) along with increasing demands for climate protection across the board, the packaging industry will have more than enough to discuss at this year’s Fachpack.‘Transition in Packaging’ is the event’s fitting motto from 24 to 26 September 2024 in Nuremberg. Visitors to the fair will have an opportunity to find out about the full range of sustainable, cost-effective solutions that Schubert, the packaging machine manufacturer from Crailsheim, has developed for consumer goods manufacturers at Stand 244 in Hall 1. As an example for the new ‘Power Compact’ machine concept – high output in the smallest space with lean yet high-quality technology – a bar packer with a single-lane erector and feeding via the Comfort Feeder will be in operation at the stand. The Schubert experts will also be demonstrating how further sustainability potential through the interaction between packaging and machine technology can be harnessed.

Schubert at Automation UK 2024

Last year, Automation UK took place for the first time in Coventry, England. As a result of its resounding success, the trade fair for automation and robotics is now entering its second round – and will be taking place this year on 18 and 19 June. Schubert UK Ltd will, of course, be participating once again. Schubert’s UK sales location was not only an exhibitor last year, but it is also a co-founder of Automation UK. In the CBS Arena at Stand F10, the British team, led by Mark Stepney, will be providing information on the Germany-based company’s latest highly flexible, efficient, and resource-saving solutions for packaging products of all kinds and from all sectors. This year, visitors to the Schubert stand will have an opportunity to view a tog.519 cobot live and in action. At Automation UK, the mobile robot will be demonstrating how it can pick & place unsorted products at speeds of up to 90 cycles per minute using the AI-supported vision system.
