Schubert christens new hot air balloon

With a festive balloon christening at its headquarters in Crailsheim, Schubert is continuing its long-standing tradition of hot air ballooning. The new balloon replaces the previous model and will now serve as a flying ambassador for the Schubert brand.

A brand appearance with history

Schubert’s connection to hot air ballooning goes back to 1999. Inspired by company founder Gerhard Schubert’s passion for aviation and technology, the hot air balloon soon became a distinctive symbol of the brand and its innovative spirit.

What began as a personal fascination has grown into a lasting part of Schubert’s brand identity. The new balloon is the third Schubert hot air balloon and proudly carries this tradition forward.

Festive christening at the Crailsheim headquarters

The christening of the new balloon took place right at Schubert’s headquarters in Crailsheim. Accompanied by the existing Schubert balloon, which has been in operation since 2012, the new model was welcomed with a traditional blessing, a bottle of Prosecco and many employees in attendance to mark the occasion.

As part of an internal raffle, three employees were given the chance to join a balloon flight. Upon landing, all first-time flyers were ceremoniously inducted into the “Nobility of the Air,” following the long-standing ballooning tradition and its symbolic rituals.

The new Schubert hot air balloon is now officially in service. Operated by Heißluftballöner Wallhausen e.V., it is available for both internal company events and external guests.

Schubert wins coveted ‘Lean & Green Management Award’

When pragmatic thinking meets ecological entrepreneurship, success soon follows. Gerhard Schubert GmbH took part in an assessment carried out by the T&O Group management consultancy for the first time and it emerged as the overall winner of the ‘Lean & Green Management Award’ in the ‘Lean & Green Excellence’ category. The successful completion of the in-depth assessment clearly shows that Schubert is solution-oriented and sustainable through and through – thanks to a culture that truly lives both values rather than just making them part of the system.
