Schubert introduces Cartonpacker at the FachPack

At the FachPack, Schubert will be presenting its new Cartonpacker – a machine from the new lightline range.

For the first time at the FachPack trade fair in Nuremberg, Schubert will be presenting its new Cartonpacker – a machine from Schubert’s new lightline range. The Cartonpacker consists of a single module and handles carton packaging in the smallest of spaces – with all the expected high quality and efficiency of a TLM system. The company now provides an attractive and affordable solution with a fast delivery time for packaging tasks that require less flexibility, i.e. that consist of only a few product and format variants. Schubert’s new lightline machine range includes packaging machines for standard packaging tasks with preconfigured system components. Along with the “lightline Cartonpacker”, these also address pick-and-place applications with the “lightline Pickerline” and packaging in flow-wrap bags with the “lightline Flowpacker”.

Schubert is offering its new, preconfigured, very compact case packer in four variants for different types of cartons – boxes, boxes with lids, wrap-around boxes or RSC cartons. Depending on the type of carton, the machine is equipped with a suitable closing tool and laid out for one product at a time, i.e. for bags, boxes, bottles or cans. The lightline Cartonpacker offers flexibility in terms of format variants for every type of carton and product. The machine design distinguishes itself by reduction down to essential functions only, which results in lower energy consumption and therefore reduced costs.

In addition to attractive investment costs, customers in all sectors benefit from very short delivery times and fast commissioning with the lightline Cartonpacker. Since the machine is delivered as a unit, installation is streamlined. Assembly and commissioning can be implemented within a week. This enables customers to respond quickly to market demands.

With the Schubert lightline range, the company is targeting customers with packaging tasks that require less flexibility but who also attach great importance to high-quality machine engineering. Proven functional principles and intelligent machine control ensure reliable operation with high system availability over the machine’s entire service life.

All functions in a single module

The case packer presented at the fair will package marzipan chocolate boxes into RSC folding boxes. With a throughput of 125 boxes of chocolates per minute, the machine can process up to six different product formats. In a single machine frame (3,500 x 2,500 mm), RSC boxes are erected, filled with chocolate boxes and closed. At the heart of the machine are three F2 robots from Schubert.

Standardisation for even more customer benefits

The globally recognised leader in top-loading packaging machines continues to standardise its technology to provide optimal solutions to customers with diverse needs. Be it a machine for only a few product and format variants or a machine with maximum flexibility – Schubert always offers an ideal solution to meet a customer’s very specific requirement. Schubert’s packaging machines enable manufacturers of all sizes to access robot-based automation or to expand existing systems.

Especially with standardised packaging tasks, TLM technology with the Schubert lightline machine range offers a cost-effective, long-term solution to significantly increase production efficiency. The flexible addition and extension of the machines is possible at any time and ensures that the machines are a future-proof investment.

Gerhard Schubert GmbH at the Fachpack 2024 trade fair in Nuremberg

With the new EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) along with increasing demands for climate protection across the board, the packaging industry will have more than enough to discuss at this year’s Fachpack.‘Transition in Packaging’ is the event’s fitting motto from 24 to 26 September 2024 in Nuremberg. Visitors to the fair will have an opportunity to find out about the full range of sustainable, cost-effective solutions that Schubert, the packaging machine manufacturer from Crailsheim, has developed for consumer goods manufacturers at Stand 244 in Hall 1. As an example for the new ‘Power Compact’ machine concept – high output in the smallest space with lean yet high-quality technology – a bar packer with a single-lane erector and feeding via the Comfort Feeder will be in operation at the stand. The Schubert experts will also be demonstrating how further sustainability potential through the interaction between packaging and machine technology can be harnessed.

Schubert at Automation UK 2024

Last year, Automation UK took place for the first time in Coventry, England. As a result of its resounding success, the trade fair for automation and robotics is now entering its second round – and will be taking place this year on 18 and 19 June. Schubert UK Ltd will, of course, be participating once again. Schubert’s UK sales location was not only an exhibitor last year, but it is also a co-founder of Automation UK. In the CBS Arena at Stand F10, the British team, led by Mark Stepney, will be providing information on the Germany-based company’s latest highly flexible, efficient, and resource-saving solutions for packaging products of all kinds and from all sectors. This year, visitors to the Schubert stand will have an opportunity to view a tog.519 cobot live and in action. At Automation UK, the mobile robot will be demonstrating how it can pick & place unsorted products at speeds of up to 90 cycles per minute using the AI-supported vision system.
