Strategy brought to life: Schubert to present new TLM generation and a clearly structured portfolio

Few events have as much impact on the packaging industry as interpack: the world’s leading trade fair of its kind promises visibility, networking and cutting-edge technologies on the largest possible scale. For Schubert, this year’s edition is all about groundbreaking developments. With a revamped product strategy, a multifaceted stand concept and exhibits in three categories, the Crailsheim-based machine manufacturer has put together a truly exceptional presentation, including the premiere of its latest TLM generation.

Strategies often come across as abstract. All the more reason to bring them to life. This is precisely what Gerhard Schubert set out to do at interpack: the revamped portfolio, covering the TLM, lightline and tog. core technologies, sets the stage for this year’s trade fair presentation. Divided into three areas, the stand’s fresh new look impressively showcases what this realignment is all about: creative, modular packaging solutions that meet an extensive range of requirements. These include preconfigured installations and fully integrated lines from the proven TLM modular systems, as well as stand-alone standardised production cells.

In Hall 14, visitors to Stand D01 will discover everything there is to know about the respective core technologies. The message is clear: “Schubert masters both complex and straightforward packaging tasks – with solutions that visitors to the trade fair in Düsseldorf will have an opportunity to experience in action,” explains Marcel Kiessling, Managing Director of Sales and Service at Gerhard Schubert. Specialists from the Service team, the Packaging Competence Center (PCC), Schubert Turnkey, Consulting and Schubert-Pharma will also be on site to answer questions at dedicated thematic areas.

On the first day of the fair, Schubert will officially unveil its new TLM generation.

Latest TLM generation: Greater performance thanks to a new machine and control structure

The TLM technology developed by Gerhard Schubert, which made the company famous worldwide, is taking a big step forward. At interpack on 7 May at 11:15 a.m., Schubert will be presenting nothing less than a new TLM generation using a flowpacker. A significantly stiffer frame and new pick & place tools enable even greater performance in a smaller space. More units and conveyor technology can be accommodated within the same footprint, with improved accessibility. Schubert has switched device communication from Sercos-III to the EtherCAT robotics standard. An innovative, modular scanner system is another exciting feature of the new TLM line.

TLM for pharmaceuticals: Process reliability without losses

Schubert-Pharma also focuses on TLM technology: a cartoner with consistent hygienic design meets the stringent requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. The line reliably packages vials into boxes, complete with compartments, dividers and package inserts. Its decisive advantage lies in its table design – it prevents product losses within the machine and thereby ensures a smooth, fault-free process.

The lightline series is represented with a cartoner and, for the first time, a case packer for wrap-around applications.

lightline: A cost-effective start, fast productivity

The lightline series is represented twice at the stand: in addition to the cartoner for energy and snack bars, yet another innovation from Crailsheim is being showcased in Düsseldorf. The lightline case packer for boxes in wrap-around cartons ideally complements the portfolio and is well-suited for less complex, easily standardised packaging tasks. This applies to the entire lightline series, which also includes pick & place machines and flowpackers.

The tog.101 – a simple stand-alone box erector – can be integrated into virtually any packaging line.

Compact cells, flexible integration

The tog. product line consists of fully standardised production cells that perform individual functions in the packaging process and can be flexibly integrated into lines from Schubert or other manufacturers – an approach that will bring about lasting change in packaging scenarios. In Düsseldorf, Schubert will be presenting its AI-supported tog.519 robot together with the tog.101 erector in a separate area dedicated to ultra-compact stand-alone solutions.

Two tog.519 robots in live operation demonstrate just how powerful the concept is: the cobots pick up products such as pouches or bottles from an unsorted pile and place them in chains or containers with high speed and precision. The set-up is complemented by the tog.101, which is dedicated exclusively to erecting cartons and boxes, producing up to 60 carton trays per minute at the touch of a button. The versatile, 100 per cent standardised modules ensure maximum efficiency with a minimum footprint.

Service from the very first minute

Once machines are up and running, they should continue to operate for as long as possible. Schubert’s service portfolio lays the foundation to achieve this: using a multi-stage approach, the company ensures that lines always achieve maximum performance. Spare parts, remote support, operator training and line monitoring are some of the key ingredients that make this possible.

Schubert distributes these services across different phases of the machine lifecycle: from a successful production start-up to reliable operation, including ongoing optimisation, the service team performs essential tasks that guarantee at least 20 years of machine availability. At the trade fair, Schubert will be demonstrating the full potential of its CARE portal, an error simulation in conjunction with the 4YOUconnect customer portal and format changes on a lightline machine.
