Schubert ranks among Germany’s 100 strongest SMEs

Gerhard Schubert GmbH is one of Germany’s 100 strongest medium-sized companies. This was determined by the Munich Strategy Group in its “TOP 100 Ranking of Germany’s Mittelstand companies 2017” study and places Schubert in the 26th position. The coveted distinction reflects the successful growth of the market leader in robot-based top-loading packaging machines. In 2017, Schubert engineered 126 packaging systems for customers from a wide range of industries around the world.

As a pioneer in digitalisation, Schubert designs and builds highly flexible packaging machines, which form an important element in the implementation of Industry 4.0. With their own and continuously evolving machine control systems, the company’s IT experts ensure that the TLM packaging machines embody the latest technology on the market. The soon to be launched GRIPS.world digital platform will be another important milestone in industrial networking and for key topics such as predictive maintenance. Additionally, the family-owned company is continuously working on innovations in robot technology.

The success underpins the importance of this innovative technology in the marketplace, which is driven by current and future customer needs. The Munich Strategy Group confirms: “Schubert impressively shows that market leaders are not only geared to the current needs of their customers, but also to their future needs. The company is proceeding boldly and conquering new market segments with new technologies. In the “TOP 100 Ranking of Germany’s Mittelstand companies 2017” study, the Munich Strategy Group consulting firm puts the ‘silent superstars’ of the German economy in the limelight.

Schubert laid the foundation for its growth through a keen sense of customer needs and groundbreaking technologies. The company, with 1,250 employees and many innovations, has maintained its position as the world leader in robotics technology in top-loading packaging machinery. A key reason behind this success is that Schubert invests close to 10 per cent of its turnover in research and development every year.

A powerful team

“Of course, we at Schubert are proud to build such outstanding machines for our customers. The entire company is focused on offering solutions that are always new and oriented to meet future needs. Our corporate culture also has a second very strong cornerstone: relationships with people,” says Ralf Schubert, Managing Director of Gerhard Schubert GmbH. Creating successful innovations requires people with ideas, expertise, a team spirit and a passion for taking on technical challenges. The dedicated employees prove this day after day and the Schubert team is acknowledged worldwide as one of the very best in the field. First and foremost, it is the interplay of visionary technologies and a powerful team that is behind Schubert’s success.
