Flexible packaging technology for food producers in Asia

In collaboration with its trading partner Winckler & Co Ltd, packaging machine manufacturer Schubert is once again showcasing its offering in Japan: From 1 to 4 June, the internationally recognised market leader will present its robot-supported, top-loading packaging technology at the FOOMA 2021, Asia’s largest international food technology trade show. At the Winckler booth (Hall C, Booth 332), a Schubert packaging machine can be seen live in action. After the trade fair, this machine will be packaging soft and hard cheese into trays at a German manufacturer of dairy products

The focus of Schubert’s presence at the trade fair will be on optimising packaging processes in terms of efficiency, quality and sustainability – for a wide selection of products ranging from dairy to confectionery and baked goods to all other types of food. The exceptional flexibility of Schubert’s modular packaging machines delivers decisive advantages to manufacturers in the food sector. Thanks to the sophisticated robot technology, not only can products of any consistency be processed in a single system, but also conventional and recyclable packaging materials. The modular system enables tailored solutions to meet specific customer requirements, for example in the case of limited floor space.

As a typical example of its flexible machine concept, Schubert will be demonstrating a very compact cartoner live at the FOOMA 2021. This extremely space-saving machine packs dummies for cheese products on site into cardboard trays with lids. The use of T5 pick & place robots with a fifth axis for tilting the products makes it possible to accommodate the three process steps of erecting, filling and sealing in a single machine frame. The system achieves an output of 100 products per minute and can process different product consistencies, sizes and shapes.

Broad range of services and industry knowledge in the japanese market

The Schubert machine can be seen at the Winckler trading company’s trade fair stand. Schubert’s trading partner in Japan has several offices and technical centres in Yokohama, Nagoya and Kobe. In addition to specialist know-how in the areas of food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, plastics and printing, the portfolio also includes services such as technical consulting, customer training, installation support, various on-site services and troubleshooting. The service provider offers its customers all services from a single source – from the initial machine concept to support long after the beginning of production.

Schubert is presenting itself prominently on the homepage of its Japanese trading partner with its flexible and extremely compact modular machine range. In short profiles, the Flowpacker flow-wrapping machine and a case packer are highlighted, as well as pick & place machines and packing lines.
